Does God want me to celebrate? Is it okay?
DEUTERONOMY 16:10-11,15 Celebrate the festival of Harvest to honor the LORD your God...This is a time to celebrate before the LORD your God...Celebrate with your sons and daughters...for it is he who blesses you with bountiful harvests and gives you success in all your work. This festival will be a time of great joy for all.
2 SAMUEL 22:1-3 David sang this song to the LORD on the day the LORD rescued him from all his enemies..."The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior, my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. He is my refuge, my savior, the one who saves me from violence."
Not only is God okay with celebration, he encourages it as a way for you to thank him all he has done, to recall his acts of goodness, and to enjoy the company of others.
MATTHEW 25:23 The master said, "Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let's celebrate together!"
LUKE 15:10 There is joy in the presence of God's angels when even one sinner repents.
God and the angels celebrate the salvation of the lost, the defeat of sin and evil, and the daily joys and success of God's people.
ZEPHANIAH 3:17 The LORD your God...will take delight in you with gladness...He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.
God rejoices and celebrates when his people faithfully follow him and obey his commands.
Promise from God
PSALM 5:11 Let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. Spread your protection over them, that all who love your name may be filled with joy.
